About Alison Harris - Photographer

Alison Harris is a photographer based in Paris. Her work has appeared in books published by HarperCollins, The Little Bookroom, Rizzoli, Chronicle Books, Stewart Tabori & Chang, Random House and many others. She graduated with a degree in Art History from Mount Holyoke College.

Alison Harris’ Photographic Exhibitions

Harris has exhibited her work in solo and group exhibitions in the United States: Paris: Street Theater (FotoFest ’96, The International Festival of Photography, Houston Texas); Paris, Paris – Journey into the City of Light (Michèle Gagne Gallery, Soho, New York, 2005) and in a group show Bleu, Blanc, Rouge in B+W – Images of France by European and American photographers (Flatfile Galleries, Chicago, 2006). Harris has also exhibited in Italy in a solo show: Chiaroscuro (Il Vicolo Galleria d’Arte, Genoa, 2010).

Chiaroscuro will be shown at Chicago’s prestigious Chicago Photography Center in May, 2012.

A new show, Traslochi, mounted in conjunction with Italian poet Paola Pennecchi, will open in Milan in March, 2012. Later that year it will travel to Venice and New York. Please visit www.alisonharris.com for details.

Collections

Alison Harris’ photography is in the collections of the Musée Carnavalet (Paris Historical Museum), the Bibliothèque Historique de la Ville de Paris (Paris Historical Library), Osterreichische Nationalbibliothek (Austrian National Library) and the Mount Holyoke College Art Museum (Massachusetts). Her work is also in numerous private collections in Europe and the United States, including the Nelson Blitz, Jr. and Catherine Woodard Collection.
